Los Angeles, CA — An estimated 36,000 people showed up for the Bernie Sanders/AOC Fighting Oligarchy Tour rally in downtown Los Angeles on April 12.

“I have felt very hopeless as a queer person,” said Stevie Palmateer, 35, who identifies as non-binary. The part-time L.A. resident said attending the rally was one way to feel more in control of what is happening in the country.

Salt Lake City, UT — Bernie Sanders drew a massive crowd during his ‘Fighting the Oligarchy’ tour in deep-red Utah on April 13.

The 15,000-seat arena at the University of Utah was almost entirely filled by the time Sanders took the stage, with more spectators packed onto the floor.

San Jose. CA — As some in the upper echelons of Silicon Valley began shifting to the right politically, many of the tech industry’s everyday workers have remained liberal — but also increasingly nervous and disillusioned. Their mood is in stark contrast to the prominent tech leaders who have embraced a conservative populist ideology.

Artistically inclined protesters came out in force on April 5 with hand-made placards, elaborate illustrations, and in-your-face effigies targeting everything from Trump’s cruel immigration crackdown to DOGE’s attacks on arts and culture funding.

Tuscaloosa, AL — Indivisible registered 185 people for the Tuscaloosa "Hands Off" protest on April 5, but far more than 185 were present, lining the sidewalk between 20th Avenue and 21st Avenue, often several people deep.

"This is huge, for Alabama, for this many people to show up and be comfortable to be in public and say we are not OK with what's going on. We are very proud of this and our fellow citizens," local organizer Heather Love said.

Indianapolis, IN — Scores of protestors gathered on the lawn of the Indiana Statehouse on April 5 to protest President Donald Trump and his close political ally, Elon Musk. Organizers said nearly 5,000 were in attendance throughout the event.

Eutaw, AL — Dozens of protestors took to the streets in Eutaw on April 5 and held a rally against what they called the “President Trump-Vance-Musk regime.” The “Hands Off” protest in Eutaw coincided with other protests across the country over the weekend.

Pocatello, ID — Around 1,000 people gathered together in the Gate City to join others across the nation in protesting actions taken by the executive branch of the federal government.

After Pocatello’s protest, around 500 people rallied in Idaho Falls in the late afternoon. KIVI reported that 300 people gathered in Twin Falls and Boise Weekly reported that around 1,500 people rallied in the state’s capital city.

Salt Lake City, UT — Thousands of demonstrators voicing opposition to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk gathered at the Utah State Capitol Building in Salt Lake City.

Thousands of people gathered in Detroit, Novi, Troy, Ferndale and Lansing — among 55 planned demonstrations in Michigan to express their outrage over the Trump administration’s actions and policies.

Durham, VA — Roughly 200 veterans, VA nurses, union members and others gathered outside the Durham VA Medical Center on Wednesday to protest the proposed cuts they contend will be catastrophic for patient care.

Richmond, VA — The Trump administration’s appeal of a temporary restraining order blocking the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing personal data at the Social Security Administration has been denied.

Richmond, VA — What started in Richmond as a one-day demonstration for the nationwide "50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Day" movement has grown into almost weekly rallies drawing hundreds of locals.

St. Louis, Mo — A couple of hundred advocates for transgender rights took to the streets of downtown St. Louis on Monday, marching from Kiener Plaza to City Hall.

“You can do whatever you can try to do to us, but we're not going anywhere,” said Ryan Klinghammer, director of events with the Metro Trans Umbrella Group. “We've been here. We're going to be here no matter what they throw at us. Nothing's going to change that.”

Portsmouth, NH — Approximately 200 people holding anti-Trump and Musk signs gathered in Market Square Sunday. “What (Trump's) doing is chaotic, incompetent, he’s lying and we can’t stand it anymore,” said protester Mary Lou McElwain of Portsmouth.

Dallas, TX — Thousands of protesters gathered in Dallas on Sunday to demonstrate against President Trump’s immigration policies during the 2025 Mega March.
