Downtown Salt Lake City was at times gridlocked on Saturday when the Utah leg of of the national "Hands Off!" demonstration decrying President Donald Trump's chaotic first four months of his second term overlapped with the semi-annual general conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The "Hands Off!" protest was one of approximately 1,300 similar demonstrations happening across the nation Saturday, organized by a coalition of 202 advocacy groups spanning a gamut of American causes, including teachers unions, auto workers unions, environmental organizations, civil rights groups, women's rights organizations, political organizations and religious groups.
